New CattleFax Officers Named

DENVER (March 1, 2013) – Kevin Hughes, a cattle feeder and president of Agri Beef Risk Management Co, Boise, Idaho, was elected president of CattleFax at the organization’s business meeting in Tampa, Fla., Feb. 7. Jerry Kuenning, president of Kuenning & Son LLC, Imperial, Neb., was elected vice president.

 

CattleFax is a supplier of valuable market and associated information to the cattle industry and related businesses. The organization’s business meeting was held in conjunction with the Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show in Tampa Feb. 5-9.

 

Hughes, a graduate of the University of Arizona, is an Arizona native from a pioneer ranching and cattle feeding family who has been with Agri Beef since 1999. He is a past member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), trading in the live-cattle futures and options market as an independent floor trader. He served on the CME live-cattle marketing and advisory committees and currently serves on the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) marketing committee.

 

Agri Beef Risk Management Co. is a division of Agri Beef Co., an integrated beef company that includes ranching, cattle feeding, animal nutrition and beef processing, operating mainly in the Northwest.

 

Kuenning is the director of CattleFax’s North Central region. He received his bachelor of arts in agriculture from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and served as a director on the Upper Republican Natural Resources board for 25 years. Kuenning & Son LLC is a diversified family operation consisting of a commercial feedlot, cow calf herd and irrigated/dryland farm.

 

Also during the CattleFax board meeting, Jamie Willrett of Malta, Ill., was elected Midwest Director, and Don Quincey, Chiefland, Fla., was elected Southeast Director.
