Opening General Session
7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m., Theater
Sponsored by Fort Dodge Animal Health
The opening general session will zero in on what's being done to address critical issues in the beef industry affecting beef demand and profitability — issues like bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), opening export markets, beef safety, nutrition, new products, the environment, taxes and property rights.

Featured keynote speaker Chris Wallace will provide a political analysis in light of the fall elections and insight into what we can expect from the White House and Congress. Wallace is host of “Fox News Sunday,” a former veteran of ABC News as senior correspondent for “Prime Time Thursday,” and a frequent substitute host of “Nightline.” He also formerly worked at NBC News, where he had been chief White House correspondent and anchor of “Meet the Press.”

Beef Industry Issues Forums —
Understanding the Business and Consumer Climate
9:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health
The issues forums will focus on current issues, challenges and opportunities facing cattlemen and the beef industry. Get the inside scoop on what we can expect to see during the next year in a number of key areas that affect your livelihood, including our changing consumer base, international trade, beef safety, nutrition, plus the legislative and regulatory outlook in Washington following the election. Everyone is encouraged to participate; however, these sessions are particularly important for all board and committee members. Pick up a list of sessions, room assignments and times during the Opening General Session.
